The Suffering of Job - Suffering and God's Presence
Job 1:16-12, 20-22; 9:14-16, 32-35
Main Point:
Job learned that God is good, even in suffering.
Key Passage: Colossians 1:16-17
"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."
The Big Picture Question for the Children and Youth:
Who is God? God is our Creator and King.
Theological Theme for Adults:
God is present and in control of our suffering and uses it for good.

God's Covenant with Abraham - God Makes a Promise
Genesis 12; 15; 17
Main Point:
God made a covenant to bless all the world through Abraham.
Key Passage: Galatians 3:29
"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
The Big Picture Question for the Children and Youth:
Why can we trust God?
We can trust God because He is faithful and does everything for His glory and our good.
Theological Theme for Adults:
God established a covenant people as a vehicle to bless the entire world.

Abraham and Isaac - God Foreshadows His Promise
Genesis 22:1-14; Hebrews 11:17-19

Abraham trusted God even when he did not understand God's plan.

"And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Isaac and Rebekah – God Provides for His Promise

God gave Isaac a wife to keep His covenant with Abraham.
